Volvo Penta has just released the KAD300/DP and KAMD300 - the latest marine diesels in the company's 300hp performance range

Suitable for planing hulls, the new engine range and new Duoprop drive further strengthen its product program, says Volvo.

The two new high-tech diesel engines extend Volvo Penta's well-known 40 series. According to the company, these electronically regulated and supercharged engines, equipped with turbo and intercooler, represent state-of-the art technology in marine diesel engines.

"Boats fitted with the new engines will receive significantly improved performance, higher top-speeds, unbeatable acceleration, low noise levels and a vibration-free ride," says Volvo.

The six-cylinder, direct-injected marine diesel features 24-valve technology, electronic diesel control (EDC) software, and an advanced combustion system.

The KAD300 and KAMD300 produce crankshaft power of 285hp (210kW) and propeller shaft power of 272hp (200kW) at a maximum 3800rpm. Displacement is 3.6lt with a dry weight of 539kg with gearbox or 576kg with Duoprop.
