Grown-up "picnic boat" on display at Sydney International Boat Show

The versatile Back Cove 37 motor yacht will make its first boat show appearance outside the United States when E Marine Australia presents the new model to the public at the upcoming 2009 Sydney International Boat Show in Darling Harbour, which runs between July 30th and August 3rd.

Unveiled to the public at this year's Miami International Boat Show in February, the Back Cove 37 boasts a 24 knot crusing speed and two private double cabins for overnighting.

Built with the eye-catching spoon bow that was a feature of the famous New England fishing schooners of the 19th century, Back Cove yachts claim to offer a remarkably soft and dry ride through confused seas.

The 37 comes with a single shaft drive Yanmar diesel engine that is claimed to deliver exceptional economy for a substantial boat. A bow thruster comes as standard to enhance docking and the model to be offered in Australia will also have a generator and reverse cycle air-conditioning.

Like her smaller sisters, the Maine-built Back Cove 37 has the galley in the deck house, so the interior is kept free of cooking fumes.

The master stateroom features an island berth in the bow and a second double berth is in the guest cabin tucked under the saloon/pilot house.

For a closer inspection of the Back Cove 37, be sure to check out the 2009 Sydney International Boat Show in Darling Harbour in late July.
