There probably aren't too many butlers aboard boats in Australia and most boat owners don't have permanent or part-time crew. But there would be few boat owners who don't occasionally daydream about having someone wash down their boat, clean the interior, top up the fuel tanks and even make the beds after a weekend on the water.

Now the Sydney luxury boat dealer SBM Maritimo is offering a new service to do just that -- and more.

The service, called Maritimo Platinum Concierge, is designed to take all the hard work out of boat ownership and make every boating experience a pleasure.

SBM Maritimo boss Steve Batton reckons the service will assist his busy owners with every aspect of boat ownership. "We will refuel and wash down their boat, take care of the provisioning, clean up and make the beds," Batton says, "We will even start the engines and check all the systems before the owner arrives for a day on the water."

The concierge staff will even deliver a boat to a jetty or a wharf to meet the owner and his friends.

The service will be available exclusively to all clients of SBM Maritimo.

"This service normally attracts a $2000 joining fee but our clients will join free, so the only costs they will incur are for the services they require," Batton says.

"Just think how much extra time you would have to enjoy you boat if someone looked after all this," he says.
