Luxury boat builder Maritimo has continued its aggressive international expansion with the appointment of Auckland's Orams Marine to retail its Aegean and Sport Cabriolet lines throughout New Zealand.

Maritimo's Peter Jenkins says Orams' Nevan Barbour and his team will work closely with Don Senior at Maritimo New Zealand, which will continue to market the company's Motoryacht and Offshore Convertible vessels.

"Our business in New Zealand has grown so well that we decided to add more resources to our sales efforts there," Jenkins says, "Don has done a great job over the past six years and his focus will remain with our popular Motoryacht and Offshore Convertible models."

Barbour says the new Maritimo sub-50 foot models will be particularly attractive in the Kiwi market.

"We were drawn to Maritimo by their commitment to R&D and to their constant expansion of options for their clients," Barbour says, "For example the new C47 Sports Cabriolet that will be unveiled at the Sanctuary Cove boat show represents incredible value with its open cockpit for entertaining, large accommodation space and IPS pod drives."

Barbour says he first worked with Maritimo CEO Bill Barry-Cotter more than 10 years ago when Orams began distributing the Mariner brand in NZ.
