Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water, a giant black marlin doubles back while being traced and jumps in the boat.
The crew aboard game boat Little Audrey escaped with only minor injuries but the marlin managed to find the backrest from the game chair and flick it overboard, hitting a crewman in the head in the process, while almost snapping an outrigger.
As the heavy-tackle marlin season is now in full swing off Cairns there are sure to be many more dramatic moments aboard the big game fishing fleet.
A marlin has jumped in the back of Little Audrey, before this would be a first for many other seasoned big-marlin fishers. Thankfully, the fish managed to writhe its way back overboard. See the action below!
Little Audrey was launched in 2001 as Nelson One, a 76ft Dave-Warren design that we tested at http://www.boatsales.com.au/reviews/2001/flybridge/nelson-76-sportfish-9161.
The boat is available for charter at http://www.littleaudrey.com.au/
